BandpassModulator VST (Free Windows VST, Open Source for Win/Mac/Linux)

See it in action here:

This is a VST3 "port", written in JUCE/C++, of my other bandpass modulator modules I made for FL Studio or for PlugData, so you can use it without any other requirements other than any DAW that supports VST3 on a Windows PC.

I updated it to version 1.1 that now also contains note locks for C#, D#, F#, G#, A# which were not present in version 1.0 as shown in the video. I still offer source code and downloads for both versions!

Its unique feature is that the filter can be locked to certain notes across a chosen frequency range. With that, you can easily spice up your sound design and create everything from colorful sparkles to pure filter FM-like tones.

The code is open source and is part of this download. You can compile it yourself if you wanted to also for Mac and Linux. The plugin precompiled for Windows is also free. You can of course type in €0 or $0 in the payment box, but if you want to support me, I hope that the suggested €3 is a reasonable price.

In the download, you can also find a manual including installation instructions and the source code as well.

The VST3 is tested and works on Windows 11 22H2 with FL Studio 25, Ableton Live 11 and Tracktions pluginval VST tester.

Features

  1. A single state variable filter / bandpass filter that automatically jumps to random frequencies in a predefined frequency window. The filter first stays for a duration of “Stay” seconds at a random position, then it takes “Glide” seconds for it to reach a new frequency, where it stays another “Stay” seconds, where “Stay” and “Glide” seconds refer to the value you choose for the respective sliders.
  2. A Note Lock feature restricts the random filter jumps to frequencies corresponding to certain notes you can choose only.
  3. Three frequency jumping modes are implemented:
    1. Random: The default mode where Stay and Glide behave as described above.
    2. Up: The frequency slides upwards, or jumps through the lowest to the highest note if note lock is active.
    3. Down: Same as Up, but the jumps are downwards. Please note that the Glide Slider functionality is deactivated for the filter (but not the panning) when Up or Down mode is selected.
  4. Stereo Panning of the Filter can be automated as well.
  5. A graphical filter representation, that cycles in color between white and cyan.

Thank you very much for your support!
